The Last Sunflower

The Last Sunflower, originally uploaded by usabin.

Second trip to find the "famous" Mud Volcanoes of Banat. All I found was this last standing sunflower among a full field of head-downs. By the way, I've met a local and he told me that the Mud Volcanoes are no more, they have been filled with earth, so much for tourist attraction.(en)
Pentru cei care incearca sa caute faimosii vulcani noroiosi din Banat, le spun sa nu isi mai piarda vremea, au fost astupati sau cel putin asa mi-au zis localnicii.(ro)

The photo was taken last weekend when summer seemed a lot closer. I was searching for Muddy Volcanoes of Banat but I could not find them. Better luck next time !

Brandenburger Tor - Berlin

The Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor) is a former city gate and one of the main symbols of Berlin and Germany. It is located west of the city center at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which Berlin was once entered. One block to the north stands the Reichstag building. The gate is the monumental entry to Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees which formerly led directly to the city palace of the Prussian monarchs. It was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and built by Carl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791.(wiki)

Another nightshot in the wonderful city of Frankfurt. This time I missed the blue-hour due to some unfortunate delays but I think the result it is still worth publishing.
The venerable gothic Cathedral of St. Bartholomew has been one of the very few great churches in the German lands to be elevated to the status of "Kaiserdom" or Imperial Cathedral.
